What the final policy will cover
EZ Coaching is a professional coaching practice, not a licensed healthcare provider, so HIPAA does not apply. The policy will instead be built on the applicable state laws, and will describe:
- How your information is collected, used, and safeguarded — including the administrative, technical, and physical safeguards required by the New York SHIELD Act for New York residents' private information.
- How sensitive personal information is handled under California's CCPA/CPRA — because intake conversations can touch on stress, family dynamics, or emotional state, which are treated as sensitive, and how to limit its use.
- Newsletter and email practices under CAN-SPAM: a working one-click unsubscribe, a valid postal address, and opt-out requests honored promptly.
- How to contact Eli about your information.
